As a new pilgrim arriving in the realm of Alpha, Hansbliebdo, had the vision of shining towers of glass, and dark, deep street canyons arising over promised lands, connected by fast rail-tracks up in the sky.

Sci-Fi City consists of the “Foundation Tower” appartment building (former “Burj Müsel Düsel”), the “Great Eastern Railway-Station”, the “Research center”, the “8-bit clock” and wbernds tree-thing at the moment. Furthermore there is a small chicken farm.

Due to the large delay, of the bukkit-update, Sci-Fi city is mostly inactive atm and no further buldings and improvements have been added. It shouldn't been considered abandoned though.

The Plan is to build a City mainly of glass and smoothstone and maybe other blocks, resembling modern materials. Archetypes are Corouscant and Taris from Star Wars, Earth in “The fifth Element”, Los Angeles in “Blade Runner”, Metropolis and “Trantor” from Isaac Asimovs novels. A 1984 theme will be added, regarding culture and politics of the Settlement.

The world trembles under the might of Sci-Fi city

The relations with the town Smalltits which is located South of Sci-Fi have been severely damaged by several incidents. Smalltits has violated Sci-Fi's clay by attempting to flood the Sci-Fi desert and erecting an ungly cobble bridge which is clearly against Sci-Fi's build-code. Moreover they did not bother to place their own portal in the nether so their portal ended up interfering with Sci-Fi's (as well as at least another one).

When wbernd discovered the bridge he left a sign politely asking it to be made of smoothstone but this request was ignored by Smalltits. A few days later Hansbliebdo saw the bridge and left an angry sign demanding the bridge to be removed. This time Smalltits did not ignore Sci-Fi but left a sign by the bridge stating that the bridge was going to stay but Sci-Fi was free to remove the water from the desert. On the 27th of October the commissioners discussed the option of a war against Smalltits and the possibility of the Merchand Guild joining it. On the next day wbernd found a sign in Sci-Fi city saying “Desert got cleaned up -Kusssy of Smalltits” on a nice, pink gay-as-fuck wool block.

Sci-Fi City borders Ghoul's Trading station , Seminary Parish, Zelenozemlje and the (probably abbandonend) Dwarven Realm of Barazdul. In it's vicinity lie the Aztec village and wbernd's old settlement.

Good diplomatic relations have been established to each of these settlements though there was some confusion and butthurt about the improvement of Sci-Fi - Alpha-Town railway.

Sci-Fi City is easily reachable by train from Alpha-Town station, via Alpha-Town Arena and Berndrock Junction. It has connections to Zelenozemlje and (currently beeing built) wbernd's old settlement (via Merchant Guild).

The nether connection has also been fixed and it is now possible to travel from Alphabernd's house at spawn to the city in under 50 seconds. Signposts have been places to ensure the safety of travelers.

Sci-Fi City's economy is based on gathering the materials for making smoothstone, glass and rails. The use of coal, recently has been replaced by charcoal. With wbernds arrival the use of redstone has increased dramatically. There is a farm and an automated chicken farm.

Sci-Fi City is ruled by an agency of commissioners, currently consisting of Hansbliebdo (commissioner for industry and transport) and wbernd (commissioner for research and aesthetics)

If you want to join Sci-Fi City, especially the New Sci-Fi Project or just want to build in either one of the cities, add yourself to this list and talk to Hansbliebdo or wbernd once the server has updated, though one of use might be on IRC before that.
